Conversations
ByI am now entering the blog world and to be quite honest I am a little hesitant. I have seen so many blogs where no one reads them and it is unfortunate because they have some good information. They are in the black hole of the internet.
I don’t have one specific topic I am going to cover. My posts will range from serious to funny, to thoughts on leadership or just what is on my mind. I am pretty sure some will be about my family.
So here goes – my first entry is about my conversations with God. God seems to always wake me in the middle of the night. A little background about me, when I wake up I have a hard time going back to sleep and I get really angry. Well the other night God woke me up and I was angry right off the bat so I asked what is up with this waking me up crap early in the morning. He then said “I would talk to you at 2 in the afternoon, but you won’t listen, so that is why I wake you up at night”. Dang! That hit me where it hurts.
Does God have to wake you up to listen to his voice or are you tuned in all day?
I can totally relate! God wakes me up on a regular basis during the night to talk, listen, read, pray. But he never told me it was because i dont listen during the day. great thought!
This is awesome Rodney!!
YES! Every day, typically before 5:00 am, and no matter what time I go to bed the night before, and no matter what medical assistance I take. I thought I might have sleep apnea. I’d rather he just communicate directly in dreams.
Wow! Never thought of that, Rodney. Thanks for listening to Him (at 2am!) and sharing it w/ the rest of us who “don’t listen during the day”.
So…after reading Kendra’s blogs and now signing up for yours, I am encouraged to do a short daily blog. I love reading everyone’s…so don’t worry, your posts will not be ignored. One of the things, as a former JW (Jehovah’s Witness), I was taught was that God’s messages are unchanging and He gives it to His people in accord. Well…the JW’s made it happen by mass printing their “word” from God. As a follower of Christ now, I see the Holy Spirit directing us in one accord on His own.. not by mass printing. I too wake up around 4 or 5 daily. Many times I just lay there thinking… God, please just a little more R&R… but your words are so true. Once I get up, I do my bible reading & prayer but then… then I am off to fullfill my “chores” and I tend to not come in to the throne of God and just listen.
Keep going Rodney… for we are to encourage each other & share God’s words!!
Way awesome, Rodney! I find it difficult to listen really well in the middle of the day with 4 boys going this way and that! I get up at least an hour before they do to listen, but to keep a hold of what I heard is a real trick. Hoping for some breakthrough!
I’d like to take this opportunity to express my thankfulness to share Saturday mornings with you. The stories and brotherhood we share there are an inspiration and I always leave looking forward to the next Saturday. I appreciate your openness and passion, and have come to value, if not depend, on your insights. Thanks, Rodney. Great blog, I look forward to reading more.
Awesome blog Rodney! Miss meeting with you guys on Saturday (although I would have to agree with Spradlin “Colorado is God’s country”). Look forward to following along with your blogs. Keep doing God’s work!!!
